Honey For Your Health And Beauty

Hi Folk,

Today is my second series on "Honey for Your Health And Beauty"

Before I continue writing, the research and recommendation given here are meant to treat some of the illness in the most natural way. However this does not mean to substitute medical treatment, in particular for those having serious heart problem or even diabetes. I would advise while these natural methods are handy and natural, you should continue to monitor your medical progress with reference to your doctor.


Health Benefits of Honey

Bladder infections

  • Two tablespoons of cinnamon powder and one teaspoon of honey in a glass of warm water as a drink helps to clear bladder infection. Bladder infection tend to occur more frequent in ladies than men, so ladies, monitor your bladder condition with periodic urine check by your medical doctor.


Cholesterol

  • Two tablespoons of honey with three teaspoons of cinnamon powder mixed in 16 ounces of tea helps to reduce cholesterol level of people who have high cholesterol.
  • If it is taken 3 times a day continuously for few days, cholesterol level should be lowered.


Cold

  • If you are suffering from common or severe colds, mix one tablespoon of warm honey with ¼ teaspoon cinnamon powder daily for 3 days.
  • Your cold and sinus should go off.


Stomach Discomfort

  • Some cinnamon powder with honey in warm water helps to relief stomach pain and gas


Heart Diseases

  • Make a paste of honey and cinnamon powder and spread it on your morning breakfast bread, it helps to lower cholesterol and thus lower risk of a heart attack.
  • For patients with history of heart attack, this dietary habit helps to avoid the risk of another attack.
  • Consistent taking of this breakfast helps to improve stamina and strengthen your heart.
  • Honey and cinnamon has been proven to improve blood flow too.


Beauty

  • Mixed 3 tablespoons of honey with 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder, apply it on pimples area before sleep. Wash off with warm water the next morning. Do this continuously for 2 weeks, your pimples should subside.


Longevity

  • Tea made with honey and cinnamon powder, when taken regularly, helps to delay aging; 4 spoons of honey, 1 spoon of cinnamon powder and 3 cups of water, boil to make like tea.
  • When taken ¼ cup for 3 times a day, your complexion becomes softer and more radiant.
  • You will notice your skin starts to glow and you definitely look younger within few weeks!


Vitality

  • If you are in your midlife, taking honey and cinnamon powder in equal parts will help you stay more alert.
  • Extensive research has been done by the medical doctors and drew a conclusion that half a tablespoon of honey in a glass of water and some sprinkled amount of cinnamon powder taken in the morning immediately after brushing improves our vitality. This can be repeated in the afternoon around 3.00pm if your energy level drops.

Honey For Your Health and Beauty

Hi Folks,


In my previous post, I have written some articles on natural remedies of Honey. Today, after further studies and research, I found even great uses of honey especially when mixed with our kitchen herb; Cinnamon.

Here are they are:-

Arthritis

· Take one part of honey to two parts of warm water, add a small teaspoon of cinnamon powder. Make into a paste and massage into the aching part of your body slowly.

· The pain should ease within fifteen or twenty minutes.

· Patients of Arthritis can take one cup of hot water with two spoonful of honey and one small teaspoon of cinnamon powder daily.

· If taken consistently, chronic arthritis can be cured or eased over a period of time.

In a recent research done at Copenhagen University, it was found that when the doctors treated their patients with a mixture of one tablespoon honey and half a teaspoon of cinnamon powder before breakfast, 70 over patients out of 200 have been relieved of pain within a month. Before treatment, these patients could not walk

Hair Loss

· If you find your hair thinning slowly, simply apply a paste of hot olive oil, one tablespoon of honey, one teaspoon of cinnamon powder before a bath and leave it for approximately 15 minutes. Then wash your hair.

· Do this consistently everyday over a period of time and your hair will start to thicken. However, for baldness, you may have to consult a hair specialist although you may also try this method first before consulting a specialist.


Immune System

· Daily use of honey and cinnamon powder strengthen our immune system and protects us from bacterial and virus attack.

· Honey is a natural food, rich in vitamins and minerals.

· Regular use of honey as supplement strengthens our white blood corpuscles to fight bacteria and virus.

I personally use lots of honey and usually manuka honey because of its healing properties and also because it is a natural supplement, all for the reason to avoid as much chemicals as possible from factory made supplements.

If not used for treating ailment, honey can be taken by itself without water or you can mix it together in a warm glass of water, preferably in the morning before breakfast. If taken at night before bedtime, it can help to promote better sleep quality.

Fruits As Natural Remedies

Hi Folks

I take lots of fruits everyday, and I am sure you do. But how do you take them?

Do you take them after your meals, if you do, then I wish to enlighten you how it should be taken.

Fruits should be taken in empty stomach, and not as a desert as is often done. Why take them in empty stomach? It is because this can play an important role in detoxifying your system, supplying you with a great deal of energy for weight loss and other life activities

Let’s say if you take two slices of bread and then a slice of fruit. As fruit digests faster than bread, it is ready to go straight through the stomach and the intestines, but then get blocked by the bread which is still being digested

The bread ferments and turns to acid and when the fruit, come into contact with the bread in the stomach and digestive juices, the entire food including the fruit begin to turn bad instead of the system absorbing the nutrients.

The effect of fruits mixing with putrefying food is the result of excessive gas and bloating! So you now realize why you get bloating sometimes. Of course there are some fruits like banana which cause bloating to some people irrespective of whether they are taken empty stomach or not.

Additionally, grey hair, balding and nervous outburst, dark circles under the eyes will slowly disappear if you take fruits in the correct way as I mentioned.


Fruit Juice

We all drink fruit juice most of the time, but by all means avoid canned juice as oxidation process will result in the juice having zero nutrients. In fact the juices we prepared at home should be taken instantly and NOT stored for more than 15 minutes. Another reminder is, cooked fruits will NOT provide you with any nutrients as the cooking process destroy all nutrients from the fruits.


Fruit Juice or Whole Fruit?

There are pros and cons of taking either fruit juices or whole fruit;

Taking whole fruit which includes the pulp will provide you with the fiber for easing your digestion and bowel system, which is an important way of clearing toxin from your body everyday.

Taking fruits juice will allow your body to absorb more of the nutrients of the fruits. For instance, you can drink a glass of apple juice from three apples but you definitely can’t eat three apples at one go. But a good way to drink fruit juice is to include pulp in your juice, with this, you avoid problem of digestion.

For me, I go for two. I will have a glass of fruits and vegetables juice in the morning for the instant nutrients to boost my body for the day.

In the evening, about an hour before meal, I will take one to two serving of fruits before my dinner. This not only provides me with the nutrients but the necessary enzymes and fiber to help my digestion system. As it is, I never have problem with toilet habits early in the morning. In fact, I visit toilet at least three times a day, because I have three meals and all the residues from the meals have to be discharged everyday.


Detoxification

A 3-day “fruit fast” is a very simple and effective way to cleanse and detoxify your body once in a while, say every few weeks or six months, depending on your commitment and convenience.

Just take fruits and drink fruits juice throughout the 3 days, with different fruits varieties and occasionally with some salad. This means forgetting about your usual meals. After the detoxification program, you will be surprised when your friends compliment how radiant you look now! And you will also feel the tremendous improvement in your energy level.

Once you follow and get the habit of eating fruits the right way, you will soon feel your energy level and health has improved, your skin glow and you will be as happy as ever because you are getting more beautiful and younger!

Lead Your Healthy Lifestyle

Hi Folks,

We all wish to stay healthy in order to stay young and enjoy doing things we are passionate about. Some of us are however quite doubtful about what should be the healthy lifestyle; like what we should be eating and what we should not. I have covered some areas of certain food to avoid; like avoiding excessive coffee, alcohol, salt in my earlier posts. Here I wish to highlight further on weight-watching and day to day diet to go for.

Here are the healthy facts for us:-

1. Weight Control - Excess weight creates risk irrespective of whether your level of blood pressure and cholesterol are good because carrying around extra pound can increase your risk of heart disease by as much as 45%.

2. Healthy Lifestyle For A Healthy Heart. Not smoking, drinking in moderation, maintaining a healthy weight, exercising regularly and eating right help to reduce risk of heart disease. For people who takes medication for controlling high blood pressure or high cholesterol, cultivating these healthy habits will also reduce risk, although by a lower percentage.

3. Maintain Healthy Diet - It may be the same old stories, but I would still want to remind that diet which consists more fruits, vegetables, and whole grains will reduce risk for age-related macular degeneration (ARMD) by 35%. ARMD affects millions of people worldwide and is the leading cause of blindness in older adults.

4. Avoid Fatty Meal - Research showed that a high fat meal has a negative impact on our health for up to six hours after eating. However, if you take a brisk walk after a meal, you can reduct some of the risk of over eating this fat. But my best advice is to avoid them by all means.

5. Reduce Salt Intake - Because you have developed a greater sensitivity to sodium as you get older, cutting down on salt is even more important in keeping your blood pressure down and by that means, avoiding processed foods as they contain one of the highest level of salt.

6. Eat Salad The Healthy Way - Salad is a healthy diet, but go easy on the dressing. A recent study showed that those adults who ate more salad had higher blood concentrations of folic acid (a B vitamin), vitamins A and E, alpha and beta carotene (which can be converted to vitamin A), and the antioxidant lycopene.

7. Pomegranate Caution - Antioxidant-rich pomegranate juice can interfere with blood pressure medications, anti-depressants, AID drugs, and some narcotic pain relievers. If you take medication and drink pomegranate juice regularly, you should seek advice from your doctor.

8. Drink More Water and Tea - Water replaces fluid. Drinking tea not only replaces fluid but it also contains high antioxidants, in particular green tea which I have written quite extensively in my previous post. As you get on a habit to drink green tea, whether it is the Chinese or Japanese one, a cup after your meal will help with digestion of your meal too.

9. Think Before You Order Your Meal - It is also healthy to eat home-cooked food, even simple dishes with lots of greens will provides you with the necessary nutrients your body need. Occasionally, we may eat out in the restaurant, but it is wise to study the menu before ordering so that you can avoid the unnecessary calories, fat and sodium plus the huge portion that you some times have to leave on the plates unfinished.
