Posture Is A Reflection Of Your Personality

Perfecting Posture

We need to constantly check ourselves if we are practicing good posture all the time; at home, office or in the public. Try these tips which I learnt from my grooming class:

· Check out your posture in a mirror if you are standing straight up or you are slouching. Try to stand so that your ears, shoulders, hips, knees and ankles make one straight line. Stand straight and relax but don’t be stiff.

· Pulling in your tummy keeps your posture straight. When you are sitting, pull your belly button towards your spine.

· Check the old-fashioned way like what we learned in the school by balancing a book on your head while you walk.

· Write on some pieces of paper and stick in your room and around the house to remind you to ‘stand up straight’ and ‘sit straight’

· Engage in some exercises such as brisk walking, running, yoga or even tai-chi. These will help strengthen and tone the stomach and back muscles.

· Join a dancing class, be it Latin, Jazz or Line Dance, these hobbies help to improve your posture as you dance gracefully.

· Manage your stress well and you will naturally able to manage your posture well.

· Use a firm chair with high back for sitting and avoid hunching forward while working or driving.

· Keep reminding yourself to stand or sit straight at all times.

· Have a healthy diet that includes all the necessary nutrients and calcium to strengthen your spine.
