Stay Young With Glowing Skin

Caring For Your Skin

Clear and vibrant skin actually starts from young age. If you have this benefit of starting with basic skin care from young age, the chances of a glowing skin is higher. However it is never too late to start off with one the moment you realize it is part of your daily personal care. With a consistent daily care, we can have clear, vibrant skin that radiates vitality and health all our life. It takes a few years off you and it makes you look good from your inner self. Never think that you are too busy for your daily personal care but start making it a habit and it will soon form part of your lifestyle.

Cultivate the habit to have your routine down to the basic: cleanse, nourish, protect. This applies to both men and women, young and midlife. It is with our daily skin care that helps us protect our skin from the damage effect of the wind, air, smoke, and pollution. The sun is the most dreadful offender. Gravity too has its bad effects and our skin also reacts and responds to such things as changes in season, hormones, diet, medication, stress and so on.

We all know that everyone of us will go through the aging process. Sign of wrinkles, change of skin texture, expression lines will all show up and it is important that we take this naturally. With some effort and discipline on daily skin care, we can slow down the process and protect our skin from further damage in the years ahead.

To look and stay young, we start with the basic steps with discipline and consistency:-

1. Cleanse and tone
2. Nourish
3. Protect

Cleansing is the first step in rejuvenating our skin which should be done, twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening before we go to bed. Although a simple and gentle cleanse is good enough to wash away previous night’s moisturizer, it is vital to thoroughly cleanse and sometimes deep cleanse the day’s grime in the evening. This is to ensure we get rid of the makeup (for the ladies) and debris that clog our pores during the day. Deep cleansing also removes dead skin to reveal healthy new skin. It also helps prepare our skin to be nourished, at the same time it washes away the day’s stresses.

Nourish your skin with moisturizer after cleansing and toning helps to retain moisture and create a protective layer against environmental damage. In a hot and humid country, oil-free moisturizer is ideal as you will feel more comfortable without the sticky sensation. In a cold and dry weather, a thicker moisturizer is most preferred to give you the extra moisture and protection from dryness.

There are different moisturizers for the day and night. Day creams are formulated for daily care and replenishment of moisture whereas night creams are formulated normally for night repair and rejuvenation.

Protect your skin from the sun with sun block! This is the single most important method to protect your skin from the damaging effect of the sun. Apply it on the face, neck, hands to ensure you get sufficient protection with SPF to avoid unnecessary damage to your skin. Many of us do not realize that even in winter or spring when we do not see much of sunlight, the effect is bad enough to leave and result in premature aging for our skin.

A tan may look good for the moment, but it is actually evidence of injury to our skin. When the tan fades, damage remains with premature aging skin or even skin cancer. If we know the causes of skin cancer which can be prevented, why would we choose not take action to protect our skin right now?

Applying Sun block:-

· Apply sun block every two or three hours or more often if you are in the water or under the sun.

· Use an amount which is sufficient to cover your face, neck and hands.

· Apply it at least half an hour before going under the sun.

Keep in mind, basic skin care is the first step in healthy glowing skin which keep you looking young.
